Metalocalypse es una serie animada en Flash, emitida por el bloque programático Adult Swim. Fue creada por Brendon Small y Tommy Blacha. Se describe como una mezcla de “Spinal Tap con Scooby-Doo con Noruega.”

La serie originalmente tenía el nombre de DeathClock, pero una patente existente no permitió el uso de este nombre. Entonces fue cuando la serie y la banda de los personajes animados fue renombrada Dethklok. El título del show se cambió a DeathKlok Metalocalypse, pero al final los productores decidieron acortarlo a Metalocalypse para simplificarlo.
